The NEB Academy is a European Commission initiative to make the New European Bauhaus an integral part of training and continuing professional development in the construction sector. The NEB Academy Alliance was formed in order to establish a conceptual and legal framework for setting up the NEB Academy. Fourteen organisations from eleven European countries are working together in this network in order to develop and trial various forms of training infrastructure and innovative training formats.
The initiative is geared towards attracting young talent and seasoned experts to the construction sector by delivering targeted training on the NEB via a digital platform and employing innovative teaching methods. This is to be achieved by providing certified, high-quality teaching and learning materials and making them accessible to both learners and trainers in urban and rural areas across Europe. Austria is represented in the NEB Academy Alliance by Holzbau Austria, the association of Austrian timber construction companies. Holzbau Austria is currently working on devising an in-service education and training format for teachers and training managers at companies together with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna and the University of Education Upper Austria.
