Accessibility Statement:
We strive to make this website accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), as amended, implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 26, 2016, on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of December 2, 2016, p. 1).
This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.energy-innovation-austria.at/.
Status of Compliance with Requirements:
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines due to the incompatibilities and exceptions outlined below.
The underlying criteria are based on WCAG 2.2 conformance level AA or the equivalent European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
a) Incompatibility with accessibility regulations
- Not all images have meaningful alternative text. For some images, the alternative text repeats the image captions. This is due to the printing process and the associated translation workflow. Correcting this would result in unreasonable additional effort. We strive to provide meaningful alternative text in current editions.
(WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1 Non-Text Content) - The pages do not have a consistent heading structure everywhere, and text is not always optimally structured.
(WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1 Information and Relationships) - The embedded slider is not fully operable with a screen reader because the buttons are unlabeled and have no role.
(WCAG Success Criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard Usability and WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value) - In the issue archive, the focus order is not implemented correctly and the focus styling is insufficient.
(WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order and WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.7 Keyboard Focus Visible) - The newsletter subscription success message is only displayed briefly and is not automatically communicated to screen reader users.
(WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.3 Status Messages) - The status of the mobile menu button (open or closed) is not clearly visible to screen reader users.
(WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value)
b) Exceptions due to disproportionate load
- Some older issues contain embedded videos. These are not fully accessible. They do not have audio description (WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded)). We believe that correcting this would impose a disproportionate burden under the accessibility regulations.
c) This content is outside the scope of the applicable legislation
- Third-party content, such as videos from companies outside our control, is exempt from Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No statement can be made regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with the accessibility regulations.
